Look who's having the last laugh :-D

Exactly a year back I wrote a post title "I'm totally in shape.. 'Round' IS a shape".. Since then I have knocked off a few pounds.. 15 kgs to be precise.. Why I did it? Well.. no reason in particular.. Maybe I had enough of the peoples' jibes.. Not too sure.. when I look back,I guess the decision to go on a diet just happened on an impulse.. I was just reading reviews of some books when I happened to come across a book titled "Lose a kilo a week" by Nishi Grover.. the review was good.. I purchased the book online.. her diet plan seemed very reasonable and practical.. I decided to go for it..

When I first started the diet, people around me had a good laugh and most told me that I wouldn't be able to go through with it.. I set out to prove them wrong.. the more they made fun of me, the more stubborn I got and this helped me to be more determined to not stray away from my diet.. So from January till June this year it has been 'NO' to sweets, rice, oil and all other tempting food.. I have not been able to reach my target of losing 20 kgs, but what I have lost so far is pretty good..

My diet is now famous.. Colleagues discuss it with their kids/spouses who in turn discuss my diet at their respective offices.. I have motivated several people around me to start dieting.. I'm now bombarded with questions about my diet.. Am I happy?? Not really.. In my earlier post I claimed to not mind being on the fatter side.. So my going on a diet to shed those pounds would be hypocracy on my part.. I Just wanted to prove a point.. That if I make up mind I'm capable of achieving anything.. and I mean ANYTHING.. Lose weight, take up a new assignment at work and excel at it, or simply be a good person.. It's just a matter of wanting to achieve something.. wanting something badly enough that would make me determined to work towards achieving the goal..

A special thanks to all my critics.. the ones who've made sarcastic remarks about my weight.. the ones who discouraged me the entire time I was on a diet.. Thanks to you I have been able to reach my goal.. A word of advice.. Before you decide to comment about someone's figure or weight, have a good look at yourself in the mirror.. If you see a person with the physique of a John Abraham or a Priyanka Chopra, feel free to comment about the 'fat' person at your workplace or elsewhere.. otherwise it's best to keep you trap shut because frankly, it makes you look stupid when you have a figure like Saroj Khan (no offence to the best choreographer in Bollywood!) but you have no problem commenting about someone else's weight.. I'm resorting to sarcasm because it's illegal to shoot people..!! ;-)

And yes.. I'm having the last laugh, definitely!
