KGF - A Film review

Well its not exactly a review.. It's more about my thoughts on the movie.. Anyway I guess people may be offended by this post considering how every person who has watched the movie has been going gaga over it.. Well my New Year resolution is to be honest, even at the cost of people's feelings.. So here's an 'honest' opinion about this film..

The cardinal rule while going to watch a 'masala'/blockbuster/super duper hit film is to leave your brains at home.. Because 'blockbusters' are seldom logical.. So while the protagonist, hereinafter referred to as the 'Hero' makes an appearance on screen and everyone's hooting, I'm still trying to get a good look at his face.. What with all his long messy hair and thick beard.. It's no wonder the 'Heroine' didn't fall in love with him at first sight.. Because there wasn't a single scene in the movie where you could get a look at the 'Hero's' face.. I felt his hair is longer than my daughter's.. Need to find out his hair care routine..

Well a friend from work had told us that we would get 'goosebumps' while watching the movie.. Halfway through the movie my friend and I looked at each other asking when is/are the 'goosebump' moment(s) gonna arrive.. I haven't laughed through a comedy movie as much as I have laughed through this movie.. The dialogues.. Cringe worthy! One look at the Heroine and the Hero goes "I love (pronounced as 'loooouuu') you.. The Heroine retorts "How dare you".. and the Hero replies "How fair you"! (Shakespeare must've rolled in his grave a million times listening to that!!!) Another gem from the movie.. The Hero in his inimitable style says "If you are bad, then I am your Dad"! I'm guessing the dialogue was designed to instill fear in the villain.. But it made me laugh, thinking what would've happened if the other actor had said "But I already have a dad.. Biologically you can have just ONE dad"..And not to forget the mindless violence.. I was just amazed at how the Hero can turn any object into a weapon and mercilessly beat up all the bad guys.. Without breaking a sweat!! Well, maybe the Hero got wounded on his face and may have been bleeding.. But I couldn't see it through all that hair..

So the only thing I liked about the whole experience was that I got to bond with friends from work, outside working hours.. Anyway I've had my fill of masala movies for a lifetime.. Think I'll just go back to watching my favourite show "Grey's Anatomy".. That's a lot of mindless cinema too, but atleast there's a lot of 'eye candy' to make it worth my time.. ;-)
