Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus

A male friend of mine keeps asking me this question "How do u girls find time to do ur make up, apply nail polish, wear colour co ordinated accessories?".. and i always give him this very amused look and just say to him "Its called Multi tasking-something u guys cant really comprehend" It is true.. girls/women are aces at multi tasking.. I've seen my mom cook, supervise my brother's studies and listen to my endless stories all at the same time.. and all this while my dad would jus be watchin a cricket match.. so its simple.. its not like we spend hours gettin dressed or anythin.. in the time that we are gettin dressed we wouldve finished catchin up on the latest gossip, made plans for the coming weekend and also have decided our strategy to deal wit a nosy colleague- all this while applying nail polish or make up.. The reason for this multi tasking is that we girls/women by nature are stingy.. we dont wanna let anything go waste, especially not time.. so in

my dad is on Facebook...

Recently a friend of mine wrote on my wall saying that my dad was in touch with her on Facebook and that it was so 'cute'.. Well it is cute and thats one of the things i really like about my dad.. he loves change.. he's willing to move with the times.. He's online atleast thrice a week, checks his mails regularly, follows my blogs religiously and is like a child with a new toy whenever a new gadget becomes a part of our home.. like there was this incident very recently where he purchased a dual sim phone.. and he was so amused with it, wanted to learn more about it and how he used to keep quizzing me abt its various features.. So thats my dad.. very tech savvy and very 'in' with the times.. he's not scared of change.. change is like an adventure for him. he savours every moment of it.. well some of u mite say wats so great abt it, but i work in a an organisation where most ppl are from my dad's generation and most of them detest technology.. so when i lo

I've learnt

I've learnt........ 1> That parents are the most trustworthy people on this planet..their love for u is unconditional and they will support u on anything.. i mean ANYTHING! 2> Charles Darwin's theory of survival of the fittest is very much applicable even today.. Take the example of my PG: you're not at the dinner table on time, u wont get dinner- coz there wont be any left! 3> Your boss is always right.. there's no 2 ways about this one... 4> You should try to keep a smile on your face always coz the world looks brighter from behind a smile.. :) 5> U can charm people at the workplace just for a few minutes.. after that u better know something.. 6> u must eat to live and not the other way around.. so i eat whatever is offered to me..(Thanx to all my friends/colleagues who bring lunch for me.. hope u keep doing so in the near future as well.. heh heh) 7> To wash clothes (this is something my parents will be proud of! heh heh) 8> Singing in the ba

Social Networkin Sites: Good or Bad

Social Networking sites are a rage these days..it has crossed all age barriers and u have the young, the old, kids- well just about anybody and everybody on these networking sites i wouldn't call myself "Tech Savvy" but i like to stay with the times, so i jumped the bandwagon and became a member of 2 of these Social Networkin sites.. Well first let me get to the 'good' part.. its a great concept.. u can keep in touch with millions of friends whom u've never met once u've passed out of school or college.. its one of the cheapest forms of communication.. almost everyone has a net connection these days so its easy being in touch with the ppl around.. so on the whole it serves the purpose.. to stay in touch with the people.. time to play 'turncoat'.. heh heh.. while i agree its a great concept, i feel that its become more of a status symbol to be on these sites. everyone's just trying to have a great number of ppl on their friend list.. i get frien

Things i miss

The one thing that i always looked forward to all my life was "independence".. Since my parents for most of my life have been strict.. Monitoring my every move, keeping a track of all my activities.. I had nick named my Dad as CID since he used to always be so suspicious of all my activities.. So i just waited for the time when I would move away from home.. I prayed to God to give me a job that took me far away from home.. And I've always believed that if you wish for something with all your heart, you often end up getting it.. Its happened with me quite a lot.. so just as i had wished i got a job that took me away from home.. And then i landed up in Bangalore for work.. Freedom at last! that was my first reaction.. No more nagging, no more policing from my parents and no more fighting with my brother.. I had a job, was independent and no one could question me.. What a feeling that is! Initially, on weekends i would just have breakfast and leave my PG and simply wander
